“This hotel's prime asset is its location mere steps from Notting Hill Gate station, dropping you into a vibrant mix of restaurants and pubs. While the Victorian-era ambiance might show its age, it contributes to a certain charm, especially appealing to those wanting an authentic London experience. I see this as a practical choice for short stays, prioritizing convenience and neighborhood feel over modern polish.”

The Abbey Notting Hill enjoys a highly convenient location, just a short walk from Notting Hill Gate station, providing easy access via the central line. Guests appreciate the proximity to Portobello market, trendy cafes and amenities, as well as the possibility of a pleasant stroll to Kensington and Holland Park. Some guests have noted that rooms can be smaller than expected, however, the recently refurbished interiors, full-size baths in some rooms and the provision of tea and coffee making facilities contribute to a comfortable stay in this charming Victorian house.

FABULOUS Stay!

extra bed safe area
The staff welcomed us and showed us the room, great. Since we brought a dog, they included an extra bed, a bowl, and some treats (a ball, too!). The location was perfect as the underground is only a minute away, and the area feels safe for walks.
The bathroom felt tired. The tiles were coming away from the wall and it seemed SOMEONE had attempted repairs. The extraction fan in the bathroom was REALLY noisy.
Location
10/10
The hotel is close to the underground station. It is approximately a one-minute walk. I ALWAYS felt safe walking around the area, even late at night. This made exploring the city very convenient.
Facilities
8/10
The bathroom included a full bathtub. The hotel has a 24/7 front desk. I found this particularly helpful for late-night inquiries. They provided a kettle and a selection of teas.
Service
9/10
The front desk staff were friendly. They knew my name and were helpful with directions. They offered to hold some food in their fridge, since there isn't one in the room. The service was attentive.
Dining
8/10
The hotel provides a selection of teas in the room. There are many cafes and restaurants close by (it's ALWAYS great to have choice!). I did not use room service .

Great stay near Notting Hill Gate

helpful staff room description
The front desk helped me plan my days. They guided me to areas based on my interests. The room matched the description given. I appreciated the staff's assistance.
The room lacked a desk for laptop use. It also lacked air conditioning, a problem for sleeping. Cold water was not readily available, tap water was lukewarm.
Rooms
9/10
The room had comfortable bedding, soft sheets. There was also an iron available. The bathroom had gorgeous products available for use, very convenient.
Dining
8/10
The hotel offered a great selection of teas. The tap water was lukewarm. Availability of cold water would have been welcome, it wasn't an option.

Kind Staff and Great Location

kind staff great assistance patient attitude
I thought the staff was wonderful. A kind lady at reception greeted me upon arrival. She helped me a lot , always patient and ready to assist with anything. I am thankful for her kindness.
The absence of a elevator did make it a bit difficult to carry luggage to higher floors.
Rooms

My room included a comfortable bed, a small desk, and a wardrobe for storage. The space was clean and well maintained with fresh linens provided daily. A television with several channels ensured entertainment.
Dining

Reasonable Stay Near Notting Hill Gate

convenient location short walk soft pillows low pressure smaller room no elevator
I found the location very convenient. It was a short walk to the Notting Hill Gate station. My room was quite clean and the bed linen felt luxurious (the pillows were very soft).
The room was smaller than expected. The shower had very low water pressure. It was hard to shower properly. there was no elevator, so carrying luggage upstairs was difficult.

Acceptable Stay with Some Issues

outdated room rusty bathtub
The location proved convenient with easy access to nearby attractions.
The room felt outdated and showed signs of wear. The bathroom fixtures were old, and i found some rust in the bathtub. This was not ideal (to say the least). The television was quite small, and the lack of an elevator made carrying luggage difficult.
